Now maybe Punk has taken a turn for the worse and maybe it hasn't, but one thing for sure is the Seattle based band known as The Briefs are keeping it alive and kicking with their new album 'Steal Yer Heart.' They seem to have a ’77 style sound, which makes them that first punk band you probably found yourself listening to way back when. This album like their live sets is full of fun. There is some pop-punk sound but it gets you hooked and then hits you with fast beats with pissed off attitude. How can you go wrong? Even the slower tempo material is pretty much in your face with what punk is suppose to be about, very appealing. Guitar riffs don't deviate to metal or emo style, just hard fast punk rock- the way its suppose to be. Even the vocals have that edge that shows where these guys stand, not too loud to the point of incoherency and yet not your clean pop punk vocals. You can tell they set up their own equipment. I don't know how much more I can say about these guys, check them out and you be the judge. Track listing is as follows: 1. Genital General 2. Criminal Youth 3. Move Too Slow 4. Lint Fabrik 5. Getting Hit On At The Bank 6. Stuck On You 7. I Can't Work 8. Can't Get Through 9. My Girl (Wants Me To Be A Zombie) 10. Normal Jerks 11. Forty And Above
